First-Year SMILE Club Teacher Training

Each August, new SMILE teachers attend a special training to help them set up their club and get started.

What Do SMILE Teachers Do?

  • Recruit students to be club members
  • Lead weekly after school club meetings with hands-on STEM activities
  • Take your club on STEM field trips
  • Organize with club members a Family Math and Science Night for parents and community
  • Attend annual professional development workshops
  • Bring club members to special SMILE events on college campuses
