WHAT IS THE MIDDLE SCHOOL CHALLENGE?
SMILE's Middle School Challenge is a two-day event where students from the SMILE clubs across the state come together to solve a STEM-based problem. The Challenge event is held on the first day at Western Oregon University. The second day students go to Oregon State University to tour campus, experience life on a college campus first hand, as well as see labs and research being done. Students also participate in lessons on bioenergy.
